Конспект урока английского языка в 6 классе по теме «Television»

Цели урока:

Выяснить отношение учащихся к телевидению;

Сформировать представление о современном телевидении, его влиянии на подростков и на общество в целом;

Поставить перед учащимися проблемную задачу с целью поиска путей ее решения;

Научить самостоятельно осуществлять поиск и анализ информации.

Задачи урока:

Расширение языковой и коммуникативной компетенции учащихся;

Совершенствование умения убеждать собеседника и отстаивать свою точку зрения;

Воспитание уважительного отношения к точке зрения оппонента.

Ход урока.

1. Warm-up

T:-Good afternoon, children! How are you?

P:-Good afternoon, teacher.

2. Сообщение темы и цели урока.

Т:- Today we have a very interesting topic for speaking. Read the title of the lesson and tell me what we are going to speak about?

P: — Television.

T: — Yes. Right you are. Do you like to watch TV? Do you often watch TV?

P – Yes, I do. I usually watch TV in the evening.

3. Совершенствование навыков устной речи по теме Телевидение”.

T: — I see that most of you watch TV and like it. TV plays a very big role in our life. As you know some people like to watch TV, others don’t like watching TV programmes. Let’s discuss the TV advantages and disadvantages.

Divide into two groups. Working in groups, decide what the advantages and disadvantages of television are. Use the words and word combinations from ex.15, page 14. You’ll have 4 minutes.

Your time is up. Who is ready to start? Listen to each other carefully and agree or disagree with your classmates.

It’s time to listen to the student speaking about his hobbies. The task for you is to understand his story and name his hobby. (His hobby is collecting coins.)

Can you say that television is a hobby?

P-Yes, we can.

T- I agree with you. You are right. Television makes our life more interesting and more varied.

— You will listen to the boy’s story again and complete the sentences from ex.16, page 149 in your textbooks.

Children like to collect different things. What do you like to collect? Look at the cards, please. Finish the sentences and tell us about your hobby.

Т: — Now I see that you’re ready to speak about TV. You know Russian and English television is full of different programmes. Look at these names of different TV programmes and repeat after me:

T: — Now you read these words.

P: — The news…

T: — Thank you. Some names of these TV programmes sound like Russian. You can easily guess their meaning. Films…what does it mean? Do you like to watch films? Do you usually watch films on TV or at the cinema?

P:- …

T- Will you translate the words comedies, documentaries, video clips.

Do you like to watch comedies?

Do you usually watch video clips?

Т: — Good. But some names of TV programmes sound different from Russian. They’re quiz shows, soap operas and the news. They’re very difficult to translate. Some pictures on the blackboard will help you to do it. Look at the picture and translate into Russian.

P: — …….

T: — Yes, right. Listen to the music and guess what cartoon is it. (Звучит мелодия «Tom and Jerry» ) Do you like this cartoon?

T: — The next word is the news. Listen to this music and guess from what programme is it. (Звучит мелодия «Время вперед» Г. Свиридов)

Р: — Новости.

Т: — Right. Do you watch news? Do you watch news every day? Tell me what types of news there are on TV? P: — Sport, music, nature news.

T: — And now I want to know what programmes you like and don’t like and why. Look at the blackboard: these phrases will help you. Read the example. As for me I like comedies because they’re funny. (Pupils tell their opinion using the example)

T: -I see that you like … most of all and dislike….

с) Т: — Tell me please do you often watch TV? How often do you watch different TV programmes? Look at these words and read and translate how often we can do anything.

P: — Always, usually, sometimes, seldom, never.

T: — Very good. And now tell us how often you watch comedies or cartoons. You can use the example:

Ex.: I never watch soap-operas. I usually watch films.

Pupils tell their opinions.

4. Task for work at home.

T: — Fantasy about one TV programmes you would like to watch on TV and write their description.
