Урок английского языка в 6 классе по теме «Global Issues»

Тема: «Global Issues»

Цель урока:

Развитие речевых умений, навыков по теме «Global Issues».

Задачи урока:

1. Активизировать в речи учащихся лексику по теме «Global Issues».

2. Развивать умения, навыки аудирования и чтения с различной стратегией, умения извлекать из услышанного текста информацию и последующего анализа услышанного.

3. Развивать умения, навыки устной речи по теме (монологическая и диалогическая речь — передача содержания услышанного текста).

4. Воспитывать познавательный интерес, самостоятельность, положительную мотивацию к изучению английского языка.

План урока

I. Организация начала урока.

— Good afternoon, children! I hope you all feel well today and ready for the lesson.

First of all, I want to offer you to solve this crossword and guess what theme we shall discuss today. (1,2 слайды, worksheets)

II. Речевая зарядка.

To fill in the crossword complete the sentences.

1. A lot of … from factories and plants goes into the rivers.

2. Pouring oil into the water will … pollution.

3. The ultraviolet … is very dangerous.

4. People all over the world protest against … tests.

5. Environmental … is becoming dangerous.

6. After the hot summer there is a … of water.

7. The ozone … protects us from the radiation.

— So, the theme of our lesson is ecology, the global issues of the world.

III. Активизация в речи лексики по теме.

-Look at the screen and find the English equivalents for the following word combinations connecting with theme of the lesson. (4 слайд)

IV. Аудирование.

— Let’s see what environmental problems we face nowadays. Fill in the worksheets while watching the film.


-What global problems have we got? (5 — 10 слайды) Air pollution, acid rains, water pollution, greenhouse effect, the destruction of the ozone layer, global warming.

V. Монологическая речь.

— Share the information about the ecological problems with your classmates.

Answer the questions. (11 — 22 слайды)

VI. Чтение с различной стратегией.

-Now let’s read the text.


— Let’s work on the task after the text. You should choose the best answer (a, b or c)  for the questions. (Press Task and follow the instructions).

VII. Диалогическая речь.

— What should we do to save our world?

— Try to act out your own dialogues.

VIII. Завершающая часть урока.

1. — Did you like the lesson in general?

… will tell you the poem «The World with its countries». (One of the students learn this poem by heart beforehand)

2. — So, as you see today we’ve discussed a very important topic. And at the end of our lesson let’s watch video and sing the song «Save the Earth» all together (песня-караоке).

— Write a letter to your English pen-friend. Tell him/her about the ecological situation in your country.
