Good morning, good morning, good morning to you!

Today we’ll have an unusual lesson. So look at this picture and say what you’ve noticed there. What kind of picture is it? Guess why I’ve chosen it?

You are right. You’ve guessed the topic of our lesson. It’s “Let’s visit Moscow Zoo”. Today we’ll go to one of the largest zoo in the world. It’s Moscow Zoo!

If you work hard and be active at the lesson I’ll give you tickets to the Zoo. But to get these tickets you’ll have to earn money.

Now think about objectives of our lesson. What must we do today? Use the beginning of the sentence: We must…

– Have you ever been to the zoo? And of course, you have seen a lot of different animals there. Guess, please, what task is for you now? (ребята сами пытаются понять, какое задание они должны выполнить.)

Good for you! Look at the screen and name the animals you’ll see. Use the example: It’s a zebra. (работа с классом во фронтальном режиме).

– Into what two groups can you divide these animals?

– Of course, you’re right! And what task are we going to do now?

It’s ok’. So I have already divided animals myself. But I think that I have done some mistakes. Read my sentences and say if they are true.

– So, I see that you know names and groups of animals very good. And I think it’s time to go to the Zoo! Let’s go and sing a song “To the Zoo”.

– This spring my Internet friend Irina from California was in Moscow. And she sent me a letter about her trip and her visit to Moscow Zoo. Let’s read the letter to learn more about this famous zoo. (раздаточный материал)

1. – Look through the text and find out names of all animals which Irina and her granddaughter saw in the Zoo. Write down these names.

2. – Find the English equivalents to these Russian word combinations. Fill in the table. You will work in pairs. (ребята работают в парах, учатся слушать мнения друг друга, находить ошибки, помогают друг другу)

3. – And now let’s summarize the information about Moscow Zoo. Complete the sentences using the text of the letter. I’ll divide you into 3 groups and you will do this task together then you’ll exchange your results and get marks from your groupmates.

1) Moscow Zoo is the oldest and the largest Zoo in Russia.

2) It was founded in 1864.

3) Now the zoo has a large collection of animals, birds and other species.

4) Flamingos live in the big pond not far from the entrance.

5) There are two types of flamingos in the Moscow Zoo – pink and red.

6) Moscow Zoo is proud of its cheetahs.

7) Cheetah is the fastest four-legged on the planet.

8) Other African animals are giraffes.

9) Also you can see the European bison, the White Mountain goat, monkeys, and the big elephants with two baby elephants, polar bears in the zoo.

10) The young visitors really enjoy visiting Moscow Zoo.

Тема: Let’s visit Moscow Zoo!

Тип урока: урок повторения предметных ЗУНов

Цель урока: развитие иноязычной коммуникативной компетенции учащихся

Задачи урока:

учебный аспект – отрабатывать с учащимися в устной речи ранее изученный лексический (по теме «Животные») материал, формировать у учащихся навыки работы с текстом: просмотровое чтение, чтение с детальным пониманием, тренировать навыки письменной речи;

развивающий аспект – развивать у учащихся смысловую догадку, внимание, память, логическое мышление;

воспитательный аспект – воспитывать у учащихся бережное отношение к живой природе, толерантность по отношению к животным, формировать мотивацию к изучению английского языка;

познавательный аспект – познакомить учащихся с интересными фактами о Московском зоопарке, развивать их коммуникативную компетенцию посредством привития интереса к использованию языка в Интернет общении.

Средства обучения:

звуковые: песня «To the Zoo»;

раздаточный материал: листы с текстом и заданиями к нему, билеты в зоопарк, деньги;
